Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Every Other Weekend Coverage
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on an IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit managing complex conditions including Bariatric Surgery recovery, Stroke, Acute Respiratory Failure, Aneurysm, Encephalopathy, and Fall-related injuries
- Monitor and assess patients requiring intermediate-level care, initiating timely interventions as needed
- Document all clinical care accurately using Epic electronic health records
- Float within scope to other units or sister facilities up to 75 miles as needed to meet staffing demands
- Participate in orientation modules, which may include both billable and non-billable hours depending on clinical vs. non-clinical content
Required Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license — no pending licenses accepted
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required; first-time travelers not eligible
- Must reside more than 75 miles from the contracted facility to be eligible — candidates within 75 miles are considered local and are not eligible to apply
- Valid driver's license or state-issued ID required, along with a utility bill in the traveler's name with a matching address dated within the last three months of the projected start date
- Must be willing to float within scope to other units and/or sister facilities as needed
- No more than 5 days of RTO per 13-week contract period; no holiday RTO accepted
- Two supervisory references required at time of submission
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior travel nursing experience in an IMC, PCU, or Stepdown setting
- Familiarity with Epic electronic health records
- Experience caring for neurological and post-surgical patient populations
