    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Step Down Unit (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

    Contract | 13 Weeks | 12-Hour Night Shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed Step Down unit serving a cardiac, neurological, and complex medical patient population including post-cath interventions, CVA, sepsis, DKA, GI bleeds, and CIWA/BH patients
    • Perform telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKG interpretation; travelers will be required to pass telemetry competency testing
    • Initiate and titrate drips including antiarrhythmics, Heparin, and Insulin
    • Conduct post-surgical assessments, NIHSS/neurological assessments, and dysphagia screenings
    • Float within skillset to sister campuses with a minimum of 2-hour notice for cross-campus float; mid-shift float within the same campus is also possible
    • May be required to precept nursing students and new hires in this teaching facility environment
    Required Qualifications
    • Current, active Compact RN License
    • AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certification required — must be attached upon submittal
    • Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 full year of Step Down experience
    • At least 1 prior travel assignment and Trauma Level II experience required
    • Recent EPIC charting experience required (checkoff class will be required upon start)
    • Must live at least 40 miles from the facility to be eligible
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with stable home vents, PleurX or pericardial drains, lumbar drains, and VP shunts
    • Familiarity with Narcan drip management
    • Strong assessment and critical thinking skills with the ability to manage change effectively
