    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Step Down Unit (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Day Shifts (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a Step Down/IMC setting managing a diverse cardiac and complex medical patient population including post-cath interventions, sepsis, DKA, CVA, GI bleeds, and CIWA/behavioral health patients.
    • Initiate and titrate drips including antiarrhythmics, Heparin, and Insulin per protocol.
    • Perform telemetry monitoring and 12-lead EKG interpretation, including passing required tele competency testing.
    • Conduct NIHSS/neurological assessments and dysphagia screenings as required by patient condition.
    • Perform post-surgical assessments and care, including patients with feeding tubes, craniotomy (POD 2), and hypothermic/bear hugger protocols.
    • Float within skillset to alternate campus locations with a minimum of 2 hours notice; mid-shift float within the same campus is also possible.
    Required Qualifications
    • Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 full year of Step Down unit experience.
    • At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment required.
    • Trauma Level II experience required.
    • Current active compact RN license required.
    • Current AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required.
    • Recent EPIC charting experience required (checkoff class will be required upon start).
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience managing stable home ventilators, PleurX or pericardial drains, lumbar drains, or VP shunts.
    • Familiarity with Narcan drip administration.
    • Strong assessment skills, critical thinking ability, and adaptability to a fast-changing environment.
