    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Respiratory Care Unit)

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct nursing care to PCU/IMC patients including ventilated and tracheostomy patients, with patient ratios of 1:4 on PCU/IMC and 1:5–6 on MS/Tele
    • Perform and manage IV therapy including access and management of ports, administration of blood products, central/PICC/peripheral line care, IV starts, and phlebotomy
    • Deliver comprehensive respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, chest tube management, ABG interpretation, tracheostomy care, and non-invasive airway management
    • Administer and monitor medications including heparin protocols, cardiac drips (no titration), PCA, procedural sedation, and IV insulin protocols
    • Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias via telemetry monitoring and maintain isolation precautions and PPE compliance
    • Float within skillset as needed based on census, patient acuity, and staffing; must work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs
    Required Qualifications
    • Active New Jersey RN license or Compact license required at time of submission
    • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
    • Minimum 2 years of PCU/IMC nursing experience, including care of ventilated and tracheostomy patients
    • Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records required
    • Former employees of this health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
    • Local candidates are welcome and accepted
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with pre/post hemodialysis management, renal failure care, and feeding tube care and management
    • Familiarity with GU/renal patient populations in a step-down or intermediate care setting
    • First-time travelers considered with 2+ years of verified PCU experience
