    Job Title

    Travel RN – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) / Stepdown – Night Shift

    Location

    Hermitage, TN | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Every other weekend required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a PCU/Stepdown unit with patient ratios of 1:4–1:5 on days and 1:5–1:6 on nights
    • Manage and monitor cardiac drips, heparin drips, and insulin drips; operate Alaris pumps and assist with peritoneal dialysis
    • Perform and support unit procedures including central line dressing changes, wound vac troubleshooting, NG/Dobhoff tube insertions, thoracentesis, paracentesis, and chest tube insertions
    • Conduct every-2-hour patient rounding on nights; maintain communication boards and adhere to AIDET patient experience standards
    • Operate and monitor BiPAPs, high-flow O2, Vapotherm, and multiple oxygen delivery systems
    • Document all patient care accurately using the Meditech electronic documentation system; may be required to float between PCU units or to med-surg floors
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN licensure (or compact equivalent) valid in Tennessee
    • BLS certification required
    • ACLS certification required
    • Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with demonstrated PCU, stepdown, or IMC experience
    • Proficiency in EKG rhythm interpretation and critical thinking in a fast-paced acute care environment
    • Experience with cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, and peripheral IV insertion
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Peritoneal dialysis experience
    • Experience with stroke care and post-cardiac catheterization care
    • Experience with tube feedings and NG/Dobhoff tube management
    • Familiarity with BiPAP and high-flow oxygen delivery systems
