Travel RN – PCU / Stepdown (Days)

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Progressive Care Unit with patient ratios of 1:4–1:5 on days
- Manage and monitor cardiac drips, heparin drips, and insulin drips; operate Alaris pumps and BiPAPs, high-flow O2, Vapotherm, and multiple oxygen delivery systems
- Perform and assist with unit procedures including peritoneal dialysis, central line dressing changes, wound vac troubleshooting, and NG/Dobhoff tube insertions
- Conduct hourly rounding and maintain AIDET communication standards; update communication boards as required
- Float between PCU units or to med-surg floors as needed per floating policy
- Document patient care using the Meditech electronic documentation system
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure valid in Tennessee (or compact license)
- BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of PCU, IMC, or Stepdown nursing experience
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills with EKG rhythm interpretation experience
- Experience with cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, and peripheral IV insertion
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Peritoneal dialysis experience
- Experience with stroke care and post-cardiac catheterization care
- Experience with tube feedings and NG/Dobhoff tube management
- Familiarity with Meditech documentation system
