Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed combined Stepdown and Floor unit serving a typical MedSurg population including chest pain, COPD, AMS, pneumonia, UTI, abdominal pain, overflow for various services, and GIP Hospice patients. Contract | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite | 2 weekends per schedule required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 32-bed combined Stepdown and Floor unit serving a typical MedSurg population including chest pain, COPD, AMS, pneumonia, UTI, abdominal pain, overflow for various services, and GIP Hospice patients
• Maintain Stepdown nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3 and Floor ratios of 1:4–6
• Administer and manage titratable drips in the Stepdown setting; manage PCAs, heparin, and similar infusions on the Floor
• Read and interpret telemetry strips in conjunction with telemetry monitor techs who continuously monitor strips
• Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, nurse aides, and respiratory therapy as part of an interdisciplinary team
• Float to other floor or stepdown units as needed per staffing requirements

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid for the state of West Virginia
• Current BLS certification required
• COVID-19 vaccination required (full vaccination: 2-dose Moderna or Pfizer series, or single-dose J&J); medical or religious exemption requests must be submitted for review and approval
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Stepdown, PCU, or IMC setting
• Familiarity with titratable drip management in an intermediate care environment
• Experience caring for hospice patients in an acute care setting
