Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Expected 36 hours/week | 2 weekend shifts expected every pay period
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a progressive care unit with a patient ratio of 1:4, with a maximum of 1:5
- Manage and titrate drips including heparin, Cardizem, and Cardene
- Operate and monitor equipment including IV pumps, Sara Stedy Lift, Roving B450 monitors, and remote telemetry
- Perform procedures including BiPAP/Hi-Flow O2 and titratable drips
- Document patient care using the Meditech EMR system
- Float to inpatient holds in the ED and Med/Surg departments as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in the state of Texas (or compact eligibility)
- Minimum 1 year of PCU experience; must be able to manage drips such as heparin, Cardizem, and Cardene
- Required certifications: NIH Stroke Scale and ACLS
- Ability to work night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Compliance with dress code: Royal Blue scrubs
Preferred Experience / Skills
- More than one year of PCU experience
- Prior experience with Meditech EMR
- Strong teamwork orientation and ability to collaborate in a fast-paced unit environment
