    Travel RN – PCU / Cardiac Stepdown (Nights)

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours/Week Guaranteed | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a 36-bed Cardiac Intermediate Care / PCU Stepdown unit serving cardiac, trauma, and stepdown-level patients
    • Monitor and manage patients on telemetry, including cardiac drips and cardiac monitoring equipment
    • Care for patients presenting with diagnoses such as chest pain, VATS, stroke/TIA, pre- and post-open heart surgery, pacemakers, heart blocks, vascular conditions, and CHF
    • Manage chest tubes and perform stepdown-level nursing interventions
    • Maintain patient ratios of 1:5–6 for cardiac patients and 1:3–4 for PCU/stepdown patients
    • Float to other units as required and respond to on-call needs when census is low
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license with a minimum of 1 year of PCU or stepdown experience (2+ years preferred)
    • Associate degree in Nursing or higher required
    • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
    • Demonstrated experience with cardiac patient populations, chest tubes, cardiac monitoring, and cardiac drips
    • Proficiency with Cerner EHR
    • Availability to work every other weekend
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with PCU and stepdown patient populations
    • Low-level ICU skills
    • Strong teamwork orientation and ability to thrive in a collaborative unit environment
