Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Float Pool)

Colorado Springs, CO (Zone-based float covering up to a 60-mile radius, including locations in Pueblo and Canon City, CO)

Contract | Night Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Onsite | Travel / Float Pool

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across multiple PCU/IMC units covering specialties including Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Renal, Ortho, Trauma, ED Observation, Bariatrics, Rehab, and General Surgery, among others
• Titrate and manage cardiac drips and infusions including dopamine, dobutamine, cardizem, amiodarone, ativan, insulin, and heparin
• Float throughout an assigned geographic zone, adapting to varying unit assignments which may be communicated 1–2 hours prior to shift start (Just-In-Time scheduling)
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3–4 depending on patient acuity, with support from nurse aides
• Operate and monitor RT equipment including ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP as needed
• Adhere to scheduling requirements including weekend shifts (6–9 per 6-week schedule) and potential holiday rotation participation

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in the state of Colorado (or compact eligibility)
• Minimum 2 years of PCU / IMC / Stepdown experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Demonstrated experience with cardiac drips, insulin drips, and ativan administration and titration
• Ability to float within a 60-mile zone radius; reliable transportation and valid driver's license required
• Must be available and present in state for the full week of orientation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a neuro PCU or neuro stepdown setting
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health records system
• Experience floating across multiple acuity levels including ICU (low-acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, and Med-Surg Telemetry
