    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU / Stepdown)

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours per Week | 6 Weekend Shifts per 6-Week Schedule | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a 24-bed monitored flex unit serving intermediate and general acuity patients, with a primary focus on post-operative cardiac, thoracic, and vascular populations
    • Manage arterial lines, central lines, peripheral and arterial lab draws, and various intravenous drips including cardiac, Lasix, insulin, heparin, and anti-hypertensive drips
    • Place and manage Dobhoff/NGT tubes; manage J-tube, PEG, and chest tubes
    • Operate and monitor pacemakers; manage PCAs and epidurals
    • Assist with bedside procedures including TEE, cardioversions, chest tube placements, and thoracentesis
    • Perform IV insertions and maintain safe RN-to-patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5 within a self-scheduling environment
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a valid Compact state license
    • Current ACLS and BLS certifications
    • Strong cardiac nursing experience required
    • Demonstrated IV insertion skills
    • Must reside outside an 80-mile local radius of the facility
    • Video interview required prior to placement
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior experience in a PCU, IMC, or stepdown unit setting
    • Familiarity with bedside cardiac monitoring and management of complex post-operative patients
    • Experience with thoracic and vascular patient populations
