Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including comprehensive patient assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation in a hospital setting
• Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care appropriate to the patient population
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to evaluate patient care, communicate relevant information, and promote continuity of care
• Assess patient and family readiness to learn and utilize appropriate patient education materials to support care goals
• Consult with appropriate resources regarding patients with complex care issues, unusual teaching needs, or those at high risk for discharge planning
• Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives while promoting a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of North Carolina
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
• Experience in a progressive care, stepdown, or intermediate care unit setting
