Registered Nurse (RN) – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Night Shift | 12-hour shifts (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM) | Every other weekend required | 2 winter holidays required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 24-bed PCU unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:3–4, managing diagnoses including pneumonia, ARDS, COVID-19, hypertensive urgency, angina, cardiac cath patients, and ETOH withdrawal
- Titrate drips including Amiodarone, Diltiazem, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Dobutamine
- Monitor and manage patients on CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
- Collaborate with remote monitor technicians and provide RN approval for telemetry strip interpretation
- Float within the regional hospital network as needed, serving as primary at the Federal Way location
- Work alongside nurse aides (1:10 ratio) and 24/7 charge nurses and house supervisors
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in the state of Washington
- Required certifications: NIHSS, ACLS, and BLS
- Minimum of 1 year of PCU or progressive care experience
- Experience titrating vasoactive and cardiac drips
- Ability to float to other facilities within the regional network when needed
- Schedule flexibility required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation
- Familiarity with respiratory support equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
- Experience caring for cardiac cath and ETOH withdrawal patient populations
