Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for IMC/PCU/Stepdown patients in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing
• Evaluate patient health status through ongoing collection and assessment of health data
• Provide health teaching, health counseling, and supportive or restorative therapy and treatment directly to patients or through consultation, delegation, supervision, or teaching of others
• Execute delegated medical functions, review and monitor therapy and treatment plans, and refer patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment
• Document care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines
• May be required to float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications based on business need, and may be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (ASN minimum required)
• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice
• BLS certification - American Heart Association
• ACLS certification
• NIH Stroke Scale certification

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous experience as a Registered Nurse in an IMC, PCU, or Stepdown setting
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• TNCC certification
