Job Title

Registered Nurse - Cardiac Stepdown

Contract | Nights | 3×12 or 4×12 Hours | 19:00-07:30 | Every other weekend coverage (subject to change based on unit need)
Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to inpatient adults with actual or potential life-threatening multisystem or cardiac conditions, including sepsis, MI, unstable angina, and coronary artery disease
• Administer and monitor vasoactive drug infusions, IV antiarrhythmic therapy, and anticoagulation therapy
• Perform or assist with thrombolytic therapy, defibrillation/cardioversion, and thoracentesis
• Conduct and interpret cardiac telemetry monitoring, EKG, and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring
• Float to like units or other facilities as needed based on census demands; float assignments will be limited to areas where competencies have been demonstrated and documented
• Complete required pre-assignment modules within 48 hours of receiving login credentials; modules are billable up to 16 hours and completed annually

Required Qualifications

• Active South Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience with Epic EMR
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a cardiac stepdown or like unit (first-time travelers may be considered based on experience)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 or more years of experience in a cardiac stepdown or progressive care setting
• Familiarity with vasoactive and antiarrhythmic drug administration in a stepdown or telemetry environment
• Prior travel nursing experience
