Contract | Day/Night Rotating Shift | 3x12-Hour Shifts | 7:00 AM–7:30 PM / 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Stepdown/HVTI unit setting, with potential to float to additional units caring for the same patient population
- Perform ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments during orientation, with an acceptable score required on both
- Adhere to unit protocols and participate in rotating holiday coverage, expected every other holiday
- Complete pre-start and annual modules as required by the facility; approximately 4–15 hours of modules depending on specialty
- Maintain compliance with annual hands-on competency requirements if on a continuous or returning contract
Required Qualifications
- Active, permanent Ohio RN license or compact state license — must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 1 year of permanent experience in IMC/PCU/Stepdown or equivalent specialty required
- Active AHA or American Red Cross BLS certification required — must be in hand at time of submission
- Active ACLS certification required — must be in hand at time of submission
- Active NIHSS certification required — must be in hand at time of submission
- One professional reference from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director in the applicable specialty, from an assignment worked within the past 12 months, is required — co-worker references will not be accepted
- No open background case or license hits; background findings are reviewed on a case-by-case basis
- Local candidates are welcome and will be considered
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience within a single facility or location for the required specialty tenure is preferred, though not required
- Familiarity with ECG rhythm recognition and electronic medication safety platforms
- Prior travel nursing experience in a large academic or high-acuity hospital environment
