    Job Title

    Travel RN – Cardiac Step Down (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

    Contract | Travel | Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 13-Week Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a 30-bed Cardiac Step Down unit with a 6:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
    • Perform telemetry application documentation, acknowledge and chart rhythm strips each shift, and manage cardiac monitoring using GE Telemetry systems
    • Administer and monitor vasoactive and cardiac drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Dobutamine, Dopamine, and Amiodarone
    • Perform and assist with unit procedures including chest tube management, wound vac management, and ad lib EKGs
    • Conduct bedside and hourly rounding utilizing the 5P framework; communicate patient needs to PCTs at the start of and throughout each shift
    • Adhere to NO PASS ZONE policy for bed alarms, call lights, and IV alarms; follow unit floating policy to general M/S, Ortho, PCU, and M/S surgical with oncology areas as needed
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Tennessee or through compact licensure
    • Minimum 2 years of RN experience
    • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
    • NIH Stroke Scale certification required
    • Proficiency with Meditech (HCA version) documentation system
    • Experience with Pyxis ES medication dispensing system and WOW (Workstation on Wheels) medication administration
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Cardiac Step Down, PCU, or telemetry nursing experience strongly preferred
    • Familiarity with Welch Allyn vitals equipment, Novameter glucose monitoring, and Rover mobile devices
    • Experience with cardiac drip management in a step down or progressive care setting
