Travel Nurse RN - Intermediate Care in Burlington, NC

Perform interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, peripheral and PICC line care, procedural sedation administration, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac), tracheostomy management, and external CPAP/BiPAP management. Manage a primary cardiac patient population including Congestive Heart Failure, Acute Coronary Syndrome, arrhythmias, pre- and post-cardiac catheterization (with and without intervention), rule-out myocardial infarction, syncope, and pacemaker placement.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care within a 30-private-bed Cardiac Medical Progressive Care unit operating 24/7, with rooms remotely monitored by a Centralized Cardiac Monitoring Department
• Manage a primary cardiac patient population including Congestive Heart Failure, Acute Coronary Syndrome, arrhythmias, pre- and post-cardiac catheterization (with and without intervention), rule-out myocardial infarction, syncope, and pacemaker placement
• Support a secondary respiratory patient population including COPD, pneumonia, and BiPAP-dependent patients
• Perform interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, peripheral and PICC line care, procedural sedation administration, chest tube management (Emerson/Pleur-evac), tracheostomy management, and external CPAP/BiPAP management
• Manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips; maintain patient ratios of 1:4 for patients on drips/BiPAP, otherwise expected ratio of 1:5
• Participate in a self-assisted scheduling system over 6-week scheduling periods; may be floated to other campus locations as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; Cardiac PCU experience required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Comfort with 1:5 patient ratios (1:4 with drips/BiPAP)
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Must pass a compliance EKG exam prior to start (2 attempts allowed)
• Third-party education verification required; degrees from schools on the Florida Diploma Fraud Audit list will not be accepted
• No open background check cases permitted; current driver's license required to verify address
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• NIH stroke scale certification preferred
• Experience with Rapid Response Teams preferred
