Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on an 18-bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMU) with a 1:3 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Manage stepdown-level patients including post-MI with sheath pull, ADHF, post-op vascular, GI bleed, and DKA
- Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips including Nitroglycerin, Neo, and Cardene per unit protocols
- Independently read and interpret telemetry strips for all assigned patients
- Manage patients on BiPAP and CPAP respiratory support
- Float to other units as needed (PRN)
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license valid in West Virginia or a compact state
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- Prior stepdown, PCU, or IMC nursing experience required
- Demonstrated ability to titrate drips independently
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with post-operative vascular and cardiac patient populations
- Familiarity with vasoactive drip management including Nitroglycerin, Neosynephrine, and Nicardipine
- Experience working alongside PCT support staff in a team-based care model
