    Job Title

    RN – Stepdown / Intermediate Medical Care Unit (IMCU)

    Boston, MA | Intermediate Care / Stepdown

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week | Day/Night Rotation | Every other weekend | Every other holiday

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a 27-bed IMCU/Stepdown unit serving a high-acuity mix of IMCU, neurology, and medical-surgical patients
    • Care for complex medical patients including those with chronic ventilators, tracheostomies, and high-acuity heart failure
    • Independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips; telemetry competency assessment required on Day 1
    • Manage automated medication dispensing systems accurately and safely
    • Maintain patient ratios of 1:3 (IMCU) or 1:4–1:5 (Medical-Surgical) depending on patient population
    • Support a high volume of neurology, medicine, and cardiology patients with complex medical needs
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN license required
    • Minimum 1 year of IMCU experience
    • 2+ years of recent medical-surgical and telemetry experience
    • Experience with neurological care, myocardial infarctions (MIs), and tracheostomy care required
    • Ability to independently interpret telemetry rhythm strips
    • Candidates residing less than 50 miles from the facility will be considered local and compensated at the local rate
    • Previous permanent staff at this facility are not eligible for submission as travel candidates
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Critical care (ICU) experience strongly preferred
    • Experience caring for patients on chronic mechanical ventilation
    • Background in high-acuity cardiology or heart failure management
