Contract | 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week | Day/Night Rotation | Every other weekend | Every other holiday
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 27-bed IMCU/Stepdown unit serving a high-acuity mix of IMCU, neurology, and medical-surgical patients
- Care for complex medical patients including those with chronic ventilators, tracheostomies, and high-acuity heart failure
- Independently read and interpret telemetry rhythm strips; telemetry competency assessment required on Day 1
- Manage automated medication dispensing systems accurately and safely
- Maintain patient ratios of 1:3 (IMCU) or 1:4–1:5 (Medical-Surgical) depending on patient population
- Support a high volume of neurology, medicine, and cardiology patients with complex medical needs
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license required
- Minimum 1 year of IMCU experience
- 2+ years of recent medical-surgical and telemetry experience
- Experience with neurological care, myocardial infarctions (MIs), and tracheostomy care required
- Ability to independently interpret telemetry rhythm strips
- Candidates residing less than 50 miles from the facility will be considered local and compensated at the local rate
- Previous permanent staff at this facility are not eligible for submission as travel candidates
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Critical care (ICU) experience strongly preferred
- Experience caring for patients on chronic mechanical ventilation
- Background in high-acuity cardiology or heart failure management
