Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on an IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit, including care for all acuity types such as occasional ICU and PCU patients
• Manage varying patient ratios based on acuity and unit needs
• Participate in weekend rotation and every-other-holiday scheduling
• Fulfill standby call requirements as needed
• Float to other units as needed per facility requirements
• Complete and pass a telemetry exam prior to assignment start, meeting strict passing criteria within the allowed attempts

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required - American Heart Association (AHA) only
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in Med/Surg and PCU; inpatient RN travelers must have two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in the submitted specialty
• First-time travelers must have more than 5 years of experience as an RN
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to assignment start (two attempts permitted; a third attempt requires submission of a cardiac interpretation review course certificate of completion; failure after three attempts will result in assignment cancellation)
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for high-acuity patients including ICU-level care in a stepdown or PCU environment
• Strong telemetry interpretation skills, including identification of lethal rhythms and heart blocks
• Flexibility and willingness to work additional weekends for an expanded contract
