    Job Title

    Travel RN – Cardiovascular Progressive Care (CVPC) / Stepdown

    Location

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care on a 40-bed cardiac surgery stepdown unit serving CV surgery, vascular surgery, and overflow medical cardiology patients
    • Manage epidurals, chest tubes, tube feedings, and IV glucommander protocols
    • Administer and monitor cardiac drip infusions including phenylephrine, dobutamine, dopamine, milrinone, cardizem, amiodarone, insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, and ketamine
    • Maintain a 1:5 patient-to-RN ratio and collaborate with PCT and HUC team members on night shift
    • Document accurately using Cerner EMR and operate Baxter IV pumps and CADD epidural pumps
    • Float as needed to stepdown, medical-surgical, or ER inpatient holding units; fulfill weekend shift requirements within each 6-week scheduling period
    Required Qualifications
    • Active RN licensure (compact or North Carolina)
    • Minimum 2 years of RN experience
    • Stepdown experience required
    • Telemetry experience required
    • Current ACLS and BLS certifications
    • Ability to work a minimum of 6 weekend shifts (Saturday/Sunday) per 6-week schedule period and flexibility to work holidays
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior CV surgery and/or vascular surgery patient population experience within the past year (open heart surgery, TAVR, lobectomy, AAA repair, fem-pop bypass)
    • Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) experience
    • Familiarity with Cerner EMR
