Start Date: October 2026

Location: North Carolina

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), 36 or 48-hour work weeks available, 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio, 3 weekend shifts required every six weeks, float to other intermediate and critical care areas as needed

  • Contract lengths from 16+ weeks available through February 2027
  • Comprehensive 32-hour orientation program including computer training and unit-based clinical orientation
  • No on-call requirement; predictable scheduling with structured weekend rotation
  • Opportunity to work with complex neurological cases including CVA, traumatic brain injury, aneurysm repair, and post-neurosurgery patients

Requirements:

  • Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience required
  • Neuro stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC, or telemetry experience strongly preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers cannot be considered
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (required); CCRN, TNCC, and CPI (preferred)
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Proficiency in vasoactive drip titration including Levophed, cardiac monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and ventilated patient care
  • Competency in comprehensive neurological nursing skills including craniotomy care, CVA management, lumbar drains, post-TPA care, seizure management, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
  • Experience with complex critical care procedures: blood product administration, central line and PICC management, IV therapy, heparin and insulin protocols, chest tubes, tracheostomy care, BiPAP/CPAP, and arterial blood gas interpretation
  • Strong teamwork orientation and adherence to professional behavioral standards
  • Strict adherence to attendance policies required
