Key Responsibilities- Perform independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with state Board of Nursing practice standards on a 32-bed progressive/intermediate care unit
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for acute patients, including management of drips and higher-acuity presentations
- Collect and assess ongoing health data to evaluate patient health status, and provide health teaching and counseling
- Review, monitor, and execute therapy and treatment plans, referring patients as needed for further evaluation
- Document care in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines
- Float to other departments within scope of competency and qualifications based on business need; may be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift
Required Qualifications- Minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing (ASN required)
- Current Registered Nurse license in the state of practice
- BLS certification - American Heart Association
- ACLS certification
Preferred Experience / Skills- Previous experience as a Registered Nurse in a progressive care, intermediate care, or step-down setting
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
