Opportunity:

RN - IMC

Job Details:

• Work in both D6/5 IMC Acute Med/Progressive Care unit and B4/3 IMC Thoracic unit
• Day/Evening 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Monday through Friday schedule with every other weekend and some holidays required
• Patient ratios of 1:3 for days, nights, and weekends
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years required
• Travel experience required
• Must be located more than 50 miles from the facility - locals not accepted
• Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
• Ventilator and transplant experience required - must be strongly proficient in these areas
• Must have experience in an Academic Level I or II Trauma Center or similar size hospital
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience required
• Charting system experience required - Epic
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, WI RN or compact RN license
• Travelers are required to float as needed
• Must pass a telemetry exam prior to start with the following criteria met in two attempts:
   - Adult Exam: 100% identification of lethal rhythms (ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole), no incorrect answers on questions regarding 3rd degree heart blocks, passing score of 80% or higher
   - Pediatric Exam: Identification of ventricular fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, asystole, and sinus bradycardia, passing score of 80% or higher
   - Traveler has two attempts to pass; if the second attempt is failed, a certificate of completion of a cardiac interpretation review course must be submitted before a third attempt is assigned; if the traveler does not pass after three attempts, the assignment will be cancelled
• Key skills include: accessing/managing ports, arterial line management, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, chest tube management, continuous bladder irrigation, CVA care, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, isolation precautions/PPE, IV insulin protocols, non-invasive airway management, PCA management, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, PICC line management, pre/post hemodialysis management, pre/post neurosurgery, procedural sedation, renal failure care, tracheostomy care, traumatic brain injury care, wound care/wound vac, and post-transplant care

The facility operates as a Level I Trauma Center and provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretarial support. The 29-bed IMC unit provides specialized nursing care to acutely ill adult patients presenting with multiple comorbidities, various medical diagnoses, and hemodynamic instability, with specialty populations including patients with cystic fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, and post-lung transplant diagnoses.
