Schedule / Job TypeContract | Days (7:00a - 7:30p) | Night shifts also available (7:00p - 7:30a) | Weekend and holiday requirements apply
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a 34-bed MedSurg Stepdown/Floor unit with ratios of 1:3 (Stepdown) and 1:5-6 (Floor)
- Titrate IV drips as required per patient care needs
- Monitor telemetry and independently read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips each shift (telemetry techs post strips, but RN proficiency is required)
- Collaborate with in-house Respiratory Therapy (available 24/7) for patients requiring ventilators, CPAP, or BiPAP
- Work alongside Charge Nurses, Transport RNs (days only), and a team of 2-5 Certified Nursing Assistants
- Float to other units as needed based on staffing requirements
Required Qualifications- Active RN licensure in West Virginia or compact state eligibility
- BLS certification (required)
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm strip interpretation
- Experience with IV drip titration
- Full COVID-19 vaccination required (Moderna, Pfizer, or J&J); medical or religious exemption requests must be submitted for review and approval
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior experience in a MedSurg Stepdown, IMC, or PCU setting
- Familiarity with ventilator management in a stable patient population
- ACLS certification
