Job Summary
The organization is seeking a registered nurse for its Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) in Wisconsin. This role involves providing dedicated care for a diverse patient population, including thoracic surgery, cardiac, and oncology patients, utilizing critical thinking and evidence-based nursing practices. The position includes working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on compassionate, team-oriented patient care.
Job Details
- Certifications: BLS & ACLS from the American Heart Association; Wisconsin or compact RN license required.
- Education & Experience: At least two years of recent acute care inpatient RN experience in the specified specialty within the last three years. Minimum of 1 year experience.
- Location: Wisconsin
- Schedule: Day/Evening, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, Monday through Friday with every other weekend and some holidays required, including work on 12/24 and 12/25.
- Responsibilities include managing cardiac telemetry, ventilators, transplant patients, arterial line management, wound care, and other critical unit procedures; passing telemetry tests prior to start.
- Required Skills and Procedures: Accessing/managing ports, managing BiPAP/CPAP, administering blood products, interpreting ABGs and dysrhythmias, managing central lines, chest tubes, feeding tubes, and titrating vasoactive drips and insulin.
- Additional Requirements: Willingness to float as needed; pass strict telemetry testing with two attempts; must meet specific cardiac rhythm identification criteria.
