Registered Nurse (RN) - Med/Surg Tele/IMC

Position Overview

This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) working in the Med/Surg Telemetry and Intermediate Care (IMC) Float Pool. The RN will be required to float between medical/surgical units and IMC units, providing comprehensive patient care in diverse settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for patients with acute respiratory distress, septic shock, hypertensive crisis, severe congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, unstable angina, and trauma patients.
• Manage and monitor patients in accordance with established protocols while maintaining a safe and caring environment.
• Respond to patient needs effectively and efficiently while ensuring continuity of care across units.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in electronic medical records.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Telemetry nursing required.
• At least 2 years of prior experience on an Intermediate Care (IMC) unit in a hospital setting.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
• Recent Med/Surg Tele experience in a hospital setting is necessary.
• Must possess recent experience with EPIC electronic medical record system.

Requirements

• Comfortable with patient-to-nurse ratios of 1:4 to 1:6.
• Flu shot and a 2-step PPD test required; no exceptions.
• This position is designated for travelers only; local candidates will not be considered.
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position.
