Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute professional and clinical knowledge as part of an interdisciplinary team in the provision and management of patient care on a Progressive Care Unit
  • Manage a patient population that may include CHF, Ablation, Angiogram, TCAR, EVAR, DKA, Stroke, Pacemaker, and Sepsis cases
  • Maintain patient ratios of 1:4, with potential to reach 1:5
  • Float as required to all inpatient areas and the Emergency Department, including across local campuses within the same discipline
  • Fulfill mandatory reporter obligations in accordance with applicable regulations
  • Work 2 of 3 designated winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) as required per facility policy
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of PCU or related clinical experience required
  • Active Iowa RN license or compact nursing license (must reflect Active status)
  • Active BLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military certificates also accepted)
  • Active ACLS certification (AHA preferred; ARC or US Military certificates also accepted)
  • Active NIHSS Certification required
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (based on driver's license)
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Experience with EPIC EMR
  • Familiarity with stroke, cardiac, and vascular patient populations
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
