Registered Nurse (RN) - Intermediate Care

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intermediate Care team. This unit provides care for a wide variety of patients, with a focus on both chronic and acute medical conditions. The ideal candidate will have a robust skill set and a passion for providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for patients with diverse medical diagnoses including cardiac, pulmonary, renal, gastrointestinal, sepsis, and others.
• Manage both medical and some surgical cases in a 16-bed unit with a 3:1 patient ratio.
• Utilize telemetry for monitoring patients, including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and ventilator management.
• Participate in a collaborative healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Schedule

• Shift: 3x12-hour days (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) during weekdays.
• Every other weekend required.
• 36 or 48-hour contract options available.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia.
• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are mandatory.
• Experience with telemetry and ventilator management is essential.
• Open to accommodating blocked schedule requests.

Orientation and Training

Orientation sessions are held every other week on Thursdays, providing an opportunity for thorough onboarding and training.

Additional Information

• Holiday requests are limited to one of the three major holidays.

• Flu shot is mandatory unless medical proof of refusal is provided.
