Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

The Registered Nurse (RN) will work in an Intermediate Care unit, providing care to a diverse patient population with various diagnoses, including chronic and acute conditions related to cardiac, pulmonary, renal, gastrointestinal, and sepsis. This role is an excellent opportunity for professional growth, offering hands-on experience in both medical and some surgical care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to a wide variety of intermediate care patients.
• Maintain a 3:1 patient ratio to ensure quality care and attention.
• Perform telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and ventilator management.
• Collaborate with a healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance clinical skills.

Work Schedule

• Available shifts: 3x12 or 4x12 hours, primarily nights (7pm - 7am).
• Every other weekend is required.
• Option for 36 or 48-hour contract agreements.
• Orientation sessions are held every other week on Thursday.

Qualifications

• Two years of nursing experience is required.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory.
• Telemetry experience is necessary, along with skills in dysrhythmia management and ventilator care.
• Must hold a current nursing license in West Virginia or be eligible for licensure.
• Open to accommodating schedule requests within established guidelines.

• The unit consists of 16 beds, providing a supportive environment for learning and skill development.
• This facility is a Level IV Trauma Center and a major teaching hospital, offering extensive resources for nurses.

• Holiday requests should be limited to one major holiday out of three each year.
