Job TitleRegistered Nurse - Progressive Care Unit (PCU) | Travel Contract
LocationAsheville, NC | Progressive Care Unit (Stepdown)
Schedule / Job TypeContract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift | 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM | Every other weekend required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit with a 4:1 patient ratio (up to 5:1 when stretched)
- Perform neurological and spinal checks, C-collar placement, and TLSO brace application
- Manage chest tubes, PCA pumps, IV infusions, lumbar drains, and feeding tube placement
- Administer blood transfusions and operate patient lift equipment including Skylift
- Document and manage patient care using Cerner EMR
- Float to stepdown and med-surg units as needed
Required Qualifications- Active RN licensure applicable to the state of North Carolina
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Neuro and trauma care experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills- Strong background in neuro and trauma care within a progressive care or stepdown setting
- Experience with Cerner EMR
- Familiarity with lumbar drain and tracheostomy management
