Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 20-bed ICU Stepdown unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment including telemetry, transport monitors, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, chest tubes, pacer wires/pacers, feeding pumps, IV pumps, and SCD pumps
• Administer and manage drip medications including heparin, tikosyn, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitroglycerin, Lasix, and ketamine
• Perform and assist with procedures such as 12-lead EKGs, chest tube placement and removal, and pacer wire removal
• Document patient care accurately using the Meditech EMR system
• Collaborate as part of a high-energy, team-oriented nursing staff in a fast-paced, high-acuity cardiac center

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of current PCU experience
• Active RN license valid for practice in Colorado
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Extensive neurology (NEURO) nursing experience
• Cardiac nursing experience in addition to PCU background
