Contract | Full-Time | Days | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
Float within all ICUs, PCU/CCUs, and ED Holding areas, caring for a diverse patient population including Neuro, Trauma, Medical, Surgical, CVICU, and general ICU patients
Manage complex patient conditions including sepsis, pneumonia, DKA, multi-system failure, spinal injuries, CHF, COPD, TBI, strokes, and post-operative cardiovascular surgery patients
Perform cardiac rhythm interpretation, ventilator and BiPAP management, invasive line management, IV medication titration, and management of chest tubes, trachs, ostomies, and lumbar drains
Document hourly rounding, complete whiteboard updates, and provide bedside report; follow all medication safety protocols including two-nurse verification when wasting controlled substances
Traveler Telemetry Competency must be completed and passed prior to start date
Occasional floating to a nearby affiliate hospital (approximately 2.5 miles away) may be required; advance notice will be provided
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Washington
Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required; first-time travelers with strong ICU background and prior float pool experience may be considered
ACLS certification required
BLS certification required
NIHSS certification required
Epic EMR experience required
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with CVICU patient population including post-op CABG, TAVR, esophagectomy, AAA repair, and thoracic/vascular surgeries
Prior float pool or multi-unit experience across ICU, PCU, CCU, and ED settings
Familiarity with pre/post cath patients using radial approach
Experience with complex medication management protocols including narcotics and benzodiazepines
