Provide direct patient care in a 12-bed ICU setting with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2
Manage and monitor patients with conditions including pneumonia, ARDS, DKA, sepsis, CVA post-tPA, renal failure, ETOH/OD, and post-cardiac catheterization
Administer and titrate common ICU drips including Amiodarone, Levophed, Propofol, Fentanyl, Precedex, Heparin (weight-based), Insulin, and others
Operate and monitor ICU equipment including ventilators, arterial lines, and IABP; apply hypothermia protocol as needed
Collaborate with Respiratory Therapists (on unit 24/7), Patient Care Technicians, and Health Unit Secretaries as part of the care team
Float to Emergency Department or Medical-Surgical unit as needed based on experience
Required Qualifications
Active RN licensure in good standing
Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience
Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Proficiency with basic ICU equipment including ventilators and arterial lines
Experience with common ICU cases such as STEMIs, coronary interventions, left heart catheterizations, EVAR, and sepsis management
Preferred Experience / Skills
Familiarity with IABP management and hypothermia protocols
Experience with cardiac monitoring equipment and hemodynamic systems
Prior experience floating to Emergency Department or Medical-Surgical settings
