Key Responsibilities
- Provide holistic, patient- and family-centered care across the ICU setting, with scope spanning adult and geriatric populations throughout the life cycle
- Execute the Standards of Nursing Practice including assessment, nursing diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation
- Develop, implement, and revise individualized patient care plans; coordinate care across disciplines and delegate activities to appropriate care team members
- Participate in shared accountability and decision-making for nursing practices, contributing to the improvement of practice standards and the care environment
- Float to other ICU units (Trauma, Medical) as well as Medical/Surgical units based on staffing needs
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the facility's electronic medical record system
Required Qualifications
- Active Minnesota Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience
- BLS certification (AHA or ARC) — required, must be documented
- ACLS certification (AHA or ARC) — required, must be documented
- Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations
- Epic EMR experience
- MN DHS Net Study and Fingerprinting required for all patient-facing positions
- Must live more than 35 miles from the facility to be eligible for standard travel rates
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for fresh open heart surgery patients
- Proficiency in interpretation of cardiac rhythms
- Experience with Impella and intra-aortic balloon pumps
