Description
TravelNurseSource is working with Concentric Healthcare Staffing to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Roanoke, Virginia, 24014!
Float between ICU, PCU, and Medical-Surgical units based on staffing needs, which are re-evaluated every four hours; candidate may float up to two to three times per shift
Provide direct patient care across all three unit types, maintaining competency with varying patient ratios (ICU 2:1, PCU 5:1, MS up to 7:1)
Administer IV therapy, blood products, continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
Manage central lines, PICC lines, arterial lines, tracheostomies, chest tubes, and non-invasive airway support including CPAP, BiPAP, and ventilator management
Perform cardiac monitoring and phlebotomy as required by unit assignment
Document all patient care accurately using EPIC electronic health records
Required Qualifications
Active Virginia state RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending license accepted only for candidates holding a single-state license from a non-compact state)
Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
Minimum of two years of ICU experience in a large Level I or Level II facility
Demonstrated comfort and competency working across ICU, PCU, and Medical-Surgical units with patient ratios of at least 1:5
Proficiency with EPIC charting system
Must be willing to work one holiday per 13-week contract period and meet weekend requirements (every other weekend or six weekend shifts per six-week scheduling block)
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior travel nursing experience, including first-time travelers who meet all clinical requirements
Experience with Emerson or PleurEvac chest tube systems
Familiarity with high-acuity stroke or trauma patient populations
