Schedule / Job TypeContract | Days (6:45 AM - 7:15 PM) | 12-Hour Shifts | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a 30-bed ICU/Trauma ICU setting with a 1:1-1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
- Manage and titrate drips including vasopressors and sedation
- Care for complex patient populations including trauma, neuro/stroke, head injuries, and post-TPA patients
- Perform ICP monitoring and ventriculostomy management
- Interpret cardiac monitor strips; unit secretary will run strips but RN is responsible for interpretation
- Collaborate with an intensivist, charge nurse, house supervisor, and respiratory therapy - all available 24/7
Required Qualifications- Active RN license valid in California
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2-3 years of ICU specialty experience; candidates with 2 years or less experience must demonstrate a strong background in larger, fast-paced acute care environments
- Experience with ICP monitoring and ventriculostomies required; candidates without this experience must have post-TPA patient care experience
- Must pass an onsite proctored Dysrhythmia Test on day one (pass/fail)
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, asking for assistance when needed, and collaborating effectively with the care team
Preferred Experience / Skills- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- PALS certification preferred; may be required if assignment extends beyond 6 months
- Experience with Hamilton ventilators
- Familiarity with interventional radiology workflows
