Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a 30-bed ICU/Trauma ICU setting with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1–2
Manage complex trauma, neuro/stroke, and head injury patients; experience with ICP monitoring and ventriculostomies is required
Titrate vasopressor and sedation drips as ordered by the intensivist team
Interpret cardiac monitor strips (GE monitors); unit secretary will run strips but RN must interpret
Operate and monitor ventilator equipment, including Hamilton vents, in coordination with assigned Respiratory Therapy staff
Float as needed to PCU, CICU, telemetry, or med-surg units; CICU assignments will involve ICU-level patients
Required Qualifications
Active RN license valid in California
BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 2–3 years of ICU/Trauma ICU specialty experience
Experience with ICP monitoring and ventriculostomies required; candidates without this experience must have documented experience with post-tPA patients
Must pass an onsite proctored Dysrhythmia Test on day one (pass/fail)
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment and demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills
Preferred Experience / Skills
Previous travel nursing experience, particularly at larger, fast-paced facilities
PALS certification preferred; will be required if assignment extends beyond 6 months
Experience with trauma patient populations and robust interventional radiology programs
