Contract | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | 3 x 12-hour shifts | 36 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for assigned ICU patients under the direction of a licensed physician
- Collaborate with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver patient-centered care using the nursing process
- Float to various units as needed, including step-down, IMCU, and ED for ICU holds/borders, with patient-to-nurse ratios not exceeding 1:3
- Direct nursing support staff in the provision of patient care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
- Provide care for a diverse patient population that may include critical care, IMCU, and specialty populations such as preeclampsia, eclampsia, postpartum hemorrhage, and hyperemesis
- Receive unit orientation prior to floating assignments; assignments to alternate units are typically communicated 24 hours in advance but may occur mid-shift
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required)
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ICU setting; new graduates will not be considered
- Active Pennsylvania Registered Nurse License (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (required)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification (required)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification
- Experience with CRRT or ECMO in a critical care setting
