    Registered Nurse (RN) – ICU / MICU

    Contract | Days | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed Medical ICU with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing diagnoses such as sepsis, ARDS, pneumonia, AKI, ETOH withdrawal, and overdose
    • Interpret EKG strips and monitor patients using telemetry; responsible for reading and interpreting cardiac monitor strips independently
    • Manage and titrate a wide variety of vasoactive and cardioactive drips per physician-outlined parameters
    • Provide advanced care for ventilated patients, including management of arterial lines and central lines
    • Collaborate with intensivists, tele-medicine intensivist support, charge RNs, house supervisors, and patient care technicians across all shifts
    • Float to lower levels of care as needed, assuming adjusted patient ratios (3:1 on stepdown, 4:1 on general med)
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Illinois RN license (or confirmation that the application process has been initiated)
    • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
    • Proficiency in EKG strip interpretation
    • Experience with arterial lines, central lines, and care of the ventilated patient
    • Advanced knowledge in titrating vasopressors and cardioactive medications
    • Ability to pass a drug screen; must comply with a drug-free campus policy
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior travel nursing experience in an ICU or MICU setting
    • Familiarity with Epic electronic health records
    • Experience working with Philips telemetry monitoring systems
