    Registered Nurse – ICU (Critical Care)

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Day Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend required | Holiday rotation required

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct, primary nursing care to critically ill patients in an 8-bed ICU with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:2–3, covering diagnoses including respiratory failure, post-surgical, post-CVA, post-trauma, wound care, IV antibiotic therapy, and cardiac conditions
    • Manage and titrate ICU-level drips including Precedex, Propofol, Fentanyl, Versed, Lasix, Insulin, Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Levophed, Dopamine, and Cardizem
    • Care for sedated and ventilated patients, including tracheostomy management, PEG tube care and feedings, and CVC/PICC/Midline usage and care
    • Collaborate with Respiratory Therapy (available in-house 24/7) on ventilator, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen management; troubleshoot respiratory equipment as needed
    • Monitor patients via hard-wired Phillips telemetry systems centrally monitored within the ICU; work alongside on-unit telemetry technicians
    • Float to medical-surgical unit as needed per staffing requirements
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Illinois RN license, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated prior to start
    • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
    • Demonstrated experience caring for sedated and ventilated ICU patients
    • Proficiency with titrating vasopressors and sedation/pain control drips
    • Experience with tracheostomy care, PEG tube feedings, and central line (CVC/PICC/Midline) management
    • Must be able to pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Prior experience in a critical care or ICU setting with a high-acuity patient population including post-trauma and post-surgical cases
    • Familiarity with Phillips telemetry monitoring systems
    • Experience working in environments where nurses provide primary care without nurse aide or patient care tech support
