Key Responsibilities
- Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients, documenting responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments and noting all changes in physician orders.
- Obtains and monitors physiological data, observes physiological manifestations of patients, and intervenes when necessary.
- Administers medications as prescribed; initiates, regulates, and monitors intravenous infusions and blood products.
- Assists physicians during patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments.
- Interacts with patients and families to share the care plan during hospitalization and at discharge, and informs them of hospital procedures.
- Delegates tasks to support staff and makes referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
- Current RN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to respond effectively to the cultural and language needs of patients and visitors.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher from a Board Approved Program.
- Proficiency in organizing, planning, coordinating, and evaluating nursing services and applying nursing techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships with interdisciplinary team members.
