Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care in North Charleston, SC

Travel RN – ICU (Night Shift)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Three 12-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend and holidays on a rotating basis

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 28-bed mixed ICU setting with patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:3, including holding inpatient PCU and med-surg admissions
• Manage ICU patients including those on ventilators, and care for up to 1–3 ICU patients per shift
• Perform and assist with advanced procedures including post-op day 0 CABG, Impella, balloon pumps, Swan-Ganz, CRRT, advanced hemodynamics, and EVDs/bolts
• Conduct bedside shift report for every patient at each transfer of care
• Float to the emergency department or PCU to manage PCU or ICU holds as needed (travelers float first per unit policy)
• Maintain active BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications throughout the assignment

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in South Carolina (or compact license eligibility)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year in an ICU setting
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• One previous successful travel nursing assignment
• Proficiency in reading telemetry strips
• Comfort managing patients on mechanical ventilation

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN degree preferred
• Prior experience with Meditech documentation system
• TNCC certification and/or other advanced certifications preferred
• Experience with neuro procedures (aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage, EVDs, Codman bolts, Arctic Sun/induced hypothermia) and/or cardiovascular ICU procedures
