Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a 16-bed Neuro ICU with patient ratios of 2:1, adjustable to 1:1 or 3:1 based on acuity and staffing needs
- Operate and monitor advanced equipment including ventilators, EVDs, CRRT, SLED, and EV 1000
- Assist with and support procedures performed on the unit including insertion of central lines, arterial lines, lumbar punctures, chest tubes, and EVD insertions
- Document patient care accurately using the Meditech documentation system
- Fulfill a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; participate in self-scheduling with manager oversight for balance
- Deliver attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members; be available to float to med/surg as contract labor when staffing needs require
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (must be valid for the state of Tennessee or compact eligibility)
- ACLS certification required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience
- Ability to wear navy scrubs (tops and bottoms) per dress code policy
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with neuro or neurocritical care patient populations
- Familiarity with Meditech electronic documentation system
- Experience with CRRT, SLED, EVDs, or EV 1000 monitoring equipment
