Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care in Martinsburg, WV

Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed ICU (MICU/SICU/Neuro) with an average daily census of 16–17 patients, managing a wide range of critical diagnoses including post-cath lab, balloon pumps, ventricles, thoracic cases, and CRRT (NxStage). Document and manage patient data using EPIC EMR , with monitor and ventilator data flowing directly into the system via Phillips Cardiac Monitors and Servo/Hamilton vents (ventilator management performed by RT; RN may silence alarms once RT is notified).

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed ICU (MICU/SICU/Neuro) with an average daily census of 16–17 patients, managing a wide range of critical diagnoses including post-cath lab, balloon pumps, ventricles, thoracic cases, and CRRT (NxStage)
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1–2 in the ICU; this unit also supports stepdown needs for the facility at a 1:3 ratio
• Administer and manage all typical ICU drips, including moderate conscious sedation, using medical IV pumps; telemetry does not titrate drips
• Document and manage patient data using EPIC EMR, with monitor and ventilator data flowing directly into the system via Phillips Cardiac Monitors and Servo/Hamilton vents (ventilator management performed by RT; RN may silence alarms once RT is notified)
• Collaborate with an in-house Pulmonary Critical Care Intensivist (days) and hospitalist (nights), as well as 24/7 in-house RT and Pharmacy support
• Respond to and support rapid responses and codes in coordination with the designated Charge Nurse

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Full COVID-19 vaccination required (2-dose Moderna or Pfizer, or single-dose J&J); medical or religious exemption requests must be submitted via the appropriate exemption form for council review
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PALS certification preferred
• TNCC certification preferred
• Experience with balloon pump management
• Familiarity with CRRT (NxStage) and/or Servo/Hamilton ventilator environments
