    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | Nights | 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Every-other-weekend requirement

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in a combined MICU/SICU/Neuro ICU setting with a 20-bed unit and an average daily census of 16–17 patients
    • Manage nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1–2 in the ICU; unit also supports stepdown needs at a 1:3 ratio
    • Administer and monitor a full range of ICU drips, including moderate conscious sedation, using medical IV pumps
    • Collaborate with a Pulmonary Critical Care Intensivist (in-house days) and hospitalist (in-house nights), as well as RT available 24/7 and in-house pharmacy
    • Document and manage patient data via EPIC EMR, which integrates directly with cardiac monitors and ventilators
    • Respond appropriately to patient needs in a unit that manages post-cath lab patients, balloon pumps (experience-dependent), thoracic cases, CRRT (NxStage), and ventilated patients
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
    • BLS certification required
    • ACLS certification required
    • NIHSS certification required
    • COVID-19 vaccination required (full vaccination: 2-dose Moderna or Pfizer series, or single-dose J&J); medical or religious exemption requests must be submitted for review and approval
    • Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • PALS certification preferred
    • TNCC certification preferred
    • Experience with ventilator management (Servo and Hamilton vents used on unit; managed by RT)
    • Experience with balloon pumps, CRRT (NxStage), or high-acuity cardiac/surgical ICU patient populations
