Travel Nurse RN - Intensive Care Unit (ICU) / Critical Care in Los Angeles, CA

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 28-bed ICU with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, serving an adult and geriatric population
• Perform interpretation of dysrhythmias and ABGs, and manage care of ventilated patients including suctioning
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, and PICC lines; administer blood products and IV insulin protocols
• Perform IV starts and provide cardiovascular care including open heart and balloon pump management
• Participate in every-other-weekend coverage; self-scheduling with no on-call requirement

Required Qualifications

• Active California RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Cardiovascular experience required, including open heart and balloon pump experience
• EPIC EMR proficiency required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and VIP, MAB, or CPI certification (in-person course only)
• Must pass an Advanced EKG exam onsite (80% minimum passing score; two attempts permitted)
• Local candidates are accepted at the travel rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with IV insulin protocols and blood product administration in a high-acuity setting
• Prior travel nursing experience (first-time travelers accepted)
• Familiarity with self-scheduling environments and high-census ICU units
