    Job Title

    Registered Nurse – ICU

    Location

    La Plata, MD | Acute Care

    Schedule / Job Type

    Contract | 14 Weeks | Days, 3x12 (07:00–19:30) | Onsite

    Key Responsibilities
    • Provide direct patient care in an ICU setting with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio, caring for adult and geriatric populations
    • Manage and monitor patients presenting with diagnoses including DKA, COPD, sepsis, acute respiratory failure, ischemic stroke, cardiac arrest, GI bleed, atrial fibrillation, and related critical conditions
    • Perform and support special procedures within the ICU scope of practice across a 10-bed unit
    • Float within specialty, to other units, and to sister facilities within scope of practice as needed — travelers are expected to float first
    • Work every other weekend and holidays as they fall per the schedule
    • Maintain active RN MD or Compact License, BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale certification throughout the assignment
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Maryland RN license or Compact license at time of submission
    • BLS certification – American Heart Association only
    • ACLS certification – American Heart Association only
    • NIH Stroke Scale certification required
    • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience; first-time travelers are welcome to apply
    • Must reside 50 or more miles from the facility to be eligible (permanent address required)
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience managing complex critical care diagnoses including respiratory failure, hypertensive emergency, ETOH withdrawal, and bowel obstruction
    • Comfort with floating to various units and sister facilities without restrictions
    • CPI certification (Calm Every Storm online version is the accepted online option) preferred for compliance purposes
