Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care in a 9-bed ICU setting with a standard nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, with 1:1 care when clinically indicated
Care for adult ICU patients, with occasional responsibility for stable pediatric patients; unstable pediatric cases are transferred to a higher level of care
Manage potential med/surg overflow assignments with ratios up to 1:3 or 1:4 as needed
Serve as charge nurse when assigned, providing shift leadership and oversight
Float to other departments to provide supplemental support (not assuming a full patient team) as needed
Collaborate with a minimum three-nurse team per shift to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
Pediatric nursing experience
ICU clinical experience
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience in a charge nurse or leadership role within an ICU setting
Comfort with med/surg overflow patient populations and variable patient ratios
